Our performing arts workshops, mentorship and performing opportunities are available to all ages and abilities across Brisbane. We offer singing, drumming, drama, magic and more. Through experienced tuition that is tailored to your needs and abilities in a friendly social environment, you’ll meet new people, learn skills that you can transfer to all areas of your life, and most of all, have fun!

We also offer specialised group sessions where we can come to you – for instance, delivered directly to your supported disability accommodation – and have a range of one-to-one sessions. These currently include singing, musical instruments, dance and even poetry. Our workshops are offered under the NDIS as well as a range of other funding options.

Tim Jackman is an actor, lyricist, playwright, singer, voiceover artist and guitarist who has been performing for and with children and adults for nearly two decades. Tim is also a regular panelist on 612ABC Brisbane.
From movement to drums to all sorts of instruments, our percussion workshop brings your body actively into the music-making process! Test your brain with activating warm-ups, learn rhythms on drums, percussive instruments, buckets and even your body.

In these lively and joyful workshops, you’ll learn the core principles of technical singing and apply your newfound skills to sing harmoniously and create music together as a group to your favourite songs.
These workshops are also highly customized, tailored to your own needs and can be accessed from your own home. Fully guided by your facilitator, you can also create new songs and perform your newfound skills in a supportive setting if that is your desired goal.

Thien Pham is pianist, songwriter and composer known for his musicality and improvisation. Outside of WMQ, he performs musical comedy in festivals around Australia, co-hosts monthly variety night ‘Brisbaret’ with Sophie Banister.
Experience the joyful and relaxing rhythms of Africa, as you learn and layer the beats and rhythms of the djembe drum in a fun and social group environment. You’ll learn the basic beats and rhythms, and become practised at listening to and finding beats within layered compositions. Pronounced ‘jem-bay’, this hand-played instrument is perfect for beginners, yet has the capacity to endure many complex rhythms as the player becomes more skilled and confident.
Aspiring musicians and performers of all kinds will find something of benefit here – stamina, endurance and posture are all necessary skills developed through the art of drumming.
Elliott Orr is one of Australia’s leading proponents and performers of African drumming, has been beating skins and encouraging others to do the same since 1991.
Olivia Cosham loves to explore the joys of music-making and performance. She's performed in international theatre, music ensembles and dance troupes while teaching movement, African drumming and body percussion.

These exciting and active workshops allow participants to delve into the world of clowning, melodrama and improvisation. With gentle feedback and support from your experienced workshop facilitator, you’ll learn everything from basic movement and breath control, to voice projection skills.
As part of the workshop series, you will devise a short work based on the skills you learn, with the opportunity to present the work at the end of the term if this is your goal.

Learn magic tricks and build your performance skills in a group setting to promote confidence, self-expression, teamwork and collaboration.
As part of this workshop series, you will devise a short performance to showcase your magic skills which can be presented throughout the year if this is your goal.
