Michelle Skinner

Director of NDIS, Health and Social Services

Michelle Skinner joined Wesley Mission Queensland in 2004 as the Director of Community Services. Since then, she has grown the community services arm of Wesley Mission Queensland considerably, now overseeing 60 community service programs that help to support thousands of Queenslanders each year.

Wesley Mission Queensland’s community service programs are wide reaching, working with people from all areas of the community, including youth and families at-risk of homelessness, those living with a disability and those with nowhere else to turn.

Growing up in a family with a strong sense of social justice meant Michelle had a desire to help those less fortunate, particularly children and the Deaf community. Among the highlights in her role, Michelle is proud of the National Auslan Interpreter Service she founded in 2005 for the Deaf community, and the growing portfolio of Specialist Disability Accommodation homes established by Wesley Mission Queensland to support young adults living with high care needs.
