Day to day is just like coming in, providing cares for the resident,
providing them with their individual support needs that they need,
emphasizing their independence with everything that they do,
going out into the community, providing support out there, doing
all sorts of different activities.
Letting them pick what they want to do, and then going along with that
and providing the best support that you can to assist them.
I love the relationship that you build with the residents and other staff.
I've been here for over three years and these residents are like my family.
It doesn't seem like it's work.
It's just so much fun.

A note from our CEO, Jude Emmer

"Other organizations may talk about offering a supportive and encouraging environment, but that is the heart of what we do at WMQ and naturally that culture extends to our workforce."

Jude Emmer, CEO of Wesley Mission Queensland

As CEO of Wesley Mission Queensland, I am privileged to lead our people in truly making a difference in the lives of others. Coming to work every day, knowing that the job you are doing has purpose and value is incredibly rewarding. Other organization may talk about offering a supportive and encouraging environment, but that is the heart of what we do at WMQ and naturally that culture extends to our workforce.

With more than 3000 employees and 2400 volunteers, I love that diversity is celebrated and individual strengths and knowledge are respected. Jobs range from personal care workers to allied health professionals, cleaners to corporate staff, and our 89 services in different locations around Queensland offer opportunities for career development and progression.

Every day I hear stories that inspire and motivate me, not only about the impact we have on our customers but the impact they have on our staff in return. In all that we do, we strive to empower the people we work with through compassion, commitment to justice and our desire to create an inclusive society for everyone.

A long history of supporting those in need combined with an innovative growth mindset makes it a very exciting time to be part of the WMQ community.  If you are looking for a career in an organisation that has caring for others is at its core, then we want to hear from you.

Warm wishes,

Jude Emmer
