Robert Packer is a qualified accountant with more than thirty years’ experience in senior finance positions and on boards and committees.

He retired in 2016 from full-time employment as General Secretary of the Queensland Synod of the Uniting Church in Australia. Robert was previously the Director Finance and Property Services Queensland Synod, the Property Officer and Secretary of The Uniting Church in Australia Property Trust (Qld) and a member of the Finance Investment and Property Board. He has played a key role in ensuring the financial sustainability of a number of Uniting Church entities. Robert’s work experience is across semi-government, manufacturing, and not-for-profit organisations. He is currently a member of St Paul’s Stafford and treasurer.

He is inspired by the work of Wesley Mission Queensland as it is the practical application of his faith.
