Superintendent Minister
Peter gave his life to Christ as a teenager and fell in love with the Bible by reading Ched Myer’s commentary on Mark’s gospel (Binding the Strongman).
He also developed a passion for theology by reading 'The Cost of Discipleship' by Dietrich Bonhoeffer, in which he learned about the costly grace that God offers to each and every person. By doing so, Peter learned about God’s heart for the poor and the broken and the lost. In fact, Peter found the story of God’s love for the world so compelling that it changed his life. Peter was ordained as a Minister of the Word in the Uniting Church in Australia in 2006.
Over the years, Peter has worked as a full-time musician and an audio technician; a youth worker and a congregational minister; he has served as a chaplain at high school, at university, and through community care; and he has taught theology, ethics, biblical studies, pastoral care and the practice of ministry in churches, schools and universities. In 2014, Peter completed a PhD on hermeneutics, discipleship and narrative theology.
Peter is passionate about seeing Wesley Mission Queensland participate in the mission of God, bringing reconciliation, transformation, justice and hope for all people.
